The Carbon Guru for Organisations software solution has become one of the first carbon accounting software platforms to receive assurance for audit readiness. Following a recent review by PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC), the Carbon Guru software (Carbon Masters’ brand name for Our Impacts) has been declared

by PwC as having ‘audit-ready output’.

Carbon Masters commend software partners Ecometrica for commissioning the PwC review,

which was done in line with International Standard on Assurance Engagements 3000 and the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England

and Wales’ Code of Ethics. Audit-ready outputs will make it easier for companies to seek independent verification of their greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions, without the need to make complex revisions to their data.

Over 70% of the assessments Carbon Masters have carried out using Carbon Guru have already been verified in line with ISO 14064 (part 3) by independent 3rd party auditors. This has helped our clients to

give investors and stakeholders confidence in their emissions data.

With the new

mandatory requirement for listed companies to report their GHG emissions in their Director’s Reports, we believe the demand for 3rd party assurance will only continue to grow.
